In-Range Performance Increases

·

·

We have had many questions from members regarding the recently announced performance-based in-range increases. This short Communique will help answer some of these questions. Annual performance-based in-range movement is permitted under the Public Sector Employers’ Council’s (PSEC) excluded management compensation restrictions and must be approved each year by the Deputy Minister, BC Public Service Agency.

The 2023 performance-based in-range movement allows for a 6.75% increase for eligible employees meeting expectations or 8.75% for the top 20% of performers per Ministry exhibiting exceptional performance. As with previous years, there is no increase available for those not meeting performance expectations or where the Ministry is unable to assess the employee’s performance.

To find out more information about how performance is assessed in each Ministry, ask your immediate supervisor or Strategic Human Resources department who to talk to.

It is important to note that in-range performance increases are based on performance and are not intended to address compression, inversion, or relativity.
